GRAN VÍA MADRILEÑA, THE BUSIEST STREET IN SPAIN AND THE SECOND ONE IN EUROPE
According to the Data Stories European High Streets Ranking 2023 report, carried out jointly by Mytraffic, a company specialising in public traffic analysis, and the real estate consultancy Cushman & Wakefield, Madrid’s Gran Vía is now the busiest street in Spain and the second busiest in Europe, behind only Kalverstraat in Amsterdam, which tops the list. This means that, compared to last year, the popular Madrid street has climbed two places in the ranking, up from the fourth position it occupied at the time. In the last year, the number of visitors to Gran Vía has increased by 26%, according to the study.
Its commercial and leisure attractions have undoubtedly driven this spectacular increase in the number of visitors. In fact, in recent months several brands have opted to locate their most representative establishments on this popular thoroughfare, such as Zara, which opened its largest shop in the world at the junction with Plaza de España; Wow Concept, the shopping centre promoted by Dimas Gimeno, with the latest in fashion, technology, decoration and cosmetics, or the new Uniqlo shop, inaugurated last autumn. These stores join others that have been in the area for some time, such as Primark, H&M, Loewe, Mango, Springfield, Lacoste, Adidas and Aristocrazy, among others.

Similarly, Gran Vía, known as Madrid’s Broadway, has an attractive cultural and leisure offer. Not in vain, it is home to some of Madrid’s most emblematic theatres and cinemas, many of them located in historic buildings, almost a hundred years old, of great architectural and cultural value. A fervent activity of great interest for citizens and, consequently, also for brands that find in the large format digital screens of the area, such as those of Circuito Gran Vía, the ideal scenario to reach their audience.
