Our iconic Sala 1 was the venue chosen by Javier Castillo and Suma publishing house to present his new novel, El susurro del fuego (The Whisper of Fire). Hundreds of people queued outside the cinema to see the Malaga-born writer up close.

At the presentation, the author was accompanied on stage by Christian Gálvez, who acted as master of ceremonies, Gonzalo Albert, literary director of Suma, and actors Maxi Iglesias and Pedro Alonso, who read the first pages of the book.

El susurro del fuego tells the story of twin siblings, Mario and Laura, who travel to the Canary Islands to celebrate life after Mario’s cancer. However, the situation becomes complicated when Mario suffers a relapse and, upon leaving the hospital, discovers that his sister has disappeared. From there, a race against time begins in which Mario must unravel the mystery of his sister’s disappearance, set against a volcanic backdrop fraught with tension and secrets.

This master of the thriller has sold more than two and a half million books in Spain, and his novels have been translated into 24 languages and published in more than 90 countries. El susurro del fuego is his eighth work. He previously wrote: El día que se perdió la cordura, El día que se perdió el amor, Todo lo que sucedió con Miranda Huff, La chica de nieve, El juego del alma, El cuco de cristal and La grieta del silencio.
